Should insulation be required, it is a simple task to equip the tanks with a 50mm PU foam layer covered by a 5mm FRP layer. This method of insulation produces a K value of 0.5W/m2K. If needed the thickness can be adjusted, for example to 100mm PU foam (0.3W/m2K). But the thickness of insulation is generally to be 30-50mm, while the thickness of outer protection cover can be 3-5mm.
FRP tank is strength higher than that of steel, casting iron, plastic and so on.
Therefore, by combining the insulation and FRP, FRP insulation tank has both FRP's and insulation's performance, such as high strength, corrosion resistance, light weight, and thermal keeping, etc.
