As the name suggests, molded grating is created on the mold; whereas pultruded grating is created by combining the pultruded profiles in the shape of grating. Molded fiberglass grating is a combination of thermosetting resin with fiberglass roving to create a strong one piece panel.

Due to the hard carbon nanofibers and abundant welded joints among the nanofibers, the hard carbon aerogels display robust and stable mechanical performances, including super-elasticity, high strength, extremely fast recovery speed (860 mm s-1) and low energy loss coefficient (<0.16). After tested under 50 % strain for 104 cycles, the carbon aerogel shows only 2 % plastic deformation, and retained 93 % original stress.

This also adds to how flexible FRP grating is, as its lightweight nature makes it flexible and easy to cut. Because of this, it is simple to customize this grating to fit the project.
