Fiberglass Grating

Fiberglass Grating

Why fiberglass?

Fiberglass grating provides excellent strength per weight ratio, and is ideal in high corrosive situations. With a variety of molded patterns, pultrusions, resin, and colors to choose from; fiberglass has something to cover any application.

Molded Fiberglass Grating

Molded fiberglass grating is engineered to provide proven corrosion resistance and reliable service

under extreme conditions. The interwoven square mesh construction provides bi-directional strength

allowing for efficient panel usage and cutting to minimize waste. The high resin to glass ratio

(approximately 65% resin to 35% glass by weight) provides excellent service life in the most

demanding applications.  Molded fiberglass grating is available in square or rectangular mesh

patterns with either Meniscus (Concave - no grit) or Gritted slip resistant top surfaces.

Gratings & Covers

Standard Resin Systems
Molded fiberglass grating is available in three standard resin systems each providing differing levels of corrosion protection.

All three resin systems meet Class 1 Flame Spread Rating per ASTM E-84 test standards.

  • GP: a General Purpose Polyester Resin System offers good corrosion resistance at an economical price. Standard colors available: Green, Yellow, Dark Gray and Light Gray.

  • IFR: a premium grade Isophthalic Polyester Resin System that provides excellent corrosion protection.  Standard colors available: Green, Yellow, Dark Gray and Light Gray.

  • VFR: a Vinyl Ester Resin System provides the highest level of corrosion protection. Standard colors available: Dark Gray and Orange.

Pultruded Fiberglass Grating

Pultruded fiberglass grating provides the capability to support heavier loads and longer spans

when compared to molded grating of similar depth and weight. We have an extensive offering of

pultruded gratings to meet most every need from ADA compliant walkways to heavy duty vehicular

traffic conditions. Pultruded fiberglass gratings are engineered to withstand corrosive conditions

that also  require high strength.

Standard Resin Systems
Pultruded fiberglass  grating is available in two standard resin systems each providing differing levels of corrosion protection.

Both resin systems meet Class 1 Flame Spread Rating per ASTM E-84 test standards.

  • IFR: a premium grade Isophthalic Polyester Resin System that provides excellent corrosion protection.  Standard colors available: Yellow and Dark Gray.

  • VFR: a Vinyl Ester Resin System provides the highest level of corrosion protection.  Standard colors available: Yellow and Dark Gray.

Specialty Fiberglass Grating

Fiberglass grating comes in many styles and sizes for any project. Not every style is in-stock ready to go and must be made to order. Special spacings, depths, and resins can be requested from our list below.

High Load Capacity (HLC) grating makes use of of the traditional benefits of molded grating products; high strength, corrosion resistance, fire retardancy, nonconductivity and low maintenance, and has been engineered to carry the higher loads that  traditional grating products can not. Molded HLC grating is available in a 4’ x6’ panels with 1-1/2” and 2” thicknesses and comes in GPFR, IFR, and VFR resin systems.
